A Cookstown man who admitted assaulting police officers who were trying to help him, will discover his sentence in January.

Police were called to a fast food restaurant on November 4 when Robert Aloysius Martin Quinn, 40, from Gortalowry Park, fell over and cut his head.

While the officers attempted to assist him he punched an officer in the eye and kneed him in the groin.

At the station he also headbutted a staff member in the shoulder, kicked him in the shin and punched him in the neck.

The case was adjourned until January 8 for sentencing.
