Josh Wright, Moeran Park, Portadown, admitted possession of a class B drug, herbal cannabis, on February 25 this year.

The case had been adjourned from a previous court so that a short
sentence report could be obtained.

The court heard that police spoke to the occupants of a vehicle in the car park at the watersports centre.

There was a strong smell of cannabis from the car and a cigarette was found on the passenger side of the vehicle. Wright admitted it belonged to him.

A solicitor representing the defendant said this was his third offence for similar matters.

District Judge, Mr Mervyn Bates, said this was becoming a recurring feature of Wright’s record.
