Motorists travelling into Cookstown are being warned to expect delays caused by the closure of the Moneymore Road.

The Moneymore Road will be closed from its junction with A29 Oldtown Street to junction of U5026 East Circular Road.

The Road Service say drivers should expect delays of over 15 minutes, as traffic is diverted on to alternative routes.

The diversions will remain in place for Thursday, Friday and throughout the weekend.

DUP MLA Ian McCrea said: “I am aware of the extent of the traffic congestion this morning and have asked Transport NI to take a look at the timing of the lights at Coagh Street/William Street to see if some improvements could be made and they have agreed to do this.”
