School Aid Romania launched at Cookstown High

THE School Aid Romania fundraising campaign has just been launched at Cookstown High School.

This year a total of 21 Year 13 pupils and two teachers are travelling to the Brasov area of Romania in February to bring aid to different schools, hospitals and orphanages.

Pupils will be hard at work between now and February organising different fundraising events to try to collect as much money as possible. All monies raised through Cookstown High’s fundraising efforts go with the pupils to Romania and are spent in the area.

In previous years the money raised has been spent on the most basic of items like food, clothes, utensils, educational equipment and medicines.

The cash will also go towards the upkeep of a minibus to take a group of orphans into a Special School for education.

Watch out for upcoming events in the area.
