Shauna’s video single is huge YouTube success

THE latest video by Silhouette starring Magherafelt girls Shauna and Eimhear Tohill had more than 3000 hits in the first 24 hours on the internet.

The track ‘Can’t Keep Up’ which features on the NI Tourist Board TV campaign has already proved a massive hit.

Top radio stations across Ireland and Europe have been playing the single lots and the new video is already a massive YouTube success even though it was only put online on Monday.

Shauna Tohill, who leads the band, is currently on tour with megastars Snow Patrol, singing duets with Gary Lightbody at sell out gigs in Copenhagen, Berlin, Stockholm, Paris and many other cities.

She shot to fame when she sang with Snow Patrol outside Belfast City Hall during the MTV EMA awards last November.

Such was Shauna’s success that Snow Patrol asked her to sing at all their Irish and UK gigs.

And she proved such a major hit that they asked her to join them on their European tour.

The single with her band Silhouette has had rave reviews on all the major radio stations across Ireland and the band has catapulted into a global audience on YouTube.

The track, which Shauna wrote, is the backdrop to the hugely successful tourism ad for Northern Ireland which is being shown across Ireland and the UK.

The tourism video has also proved a major YouTube success with almost 75,000 hits.

Not only that but the other band she has been gigging with this past five years Rams’ Pocket Radio have also been on tour playing support to Snow Patrol across Europe.

And the band has featured on the Radio One playlist with their latest single Dieter Rams.
