MYSTERY is afoot at Magherafelt Primary School as detective Sherlock Holmes and his stalwart partner Dr Watson engage in a battle of intelligence to defeat their nemesis, Professor Moriarty.

Come along to the Annual school show on the evenings of June 13 and 14 and let yourself be immersed into the plot as the Victorian super-sleuth and his faithful sidekick, take you through the back streets of London in this mysterious and mystifying adventure entitled ‘Sherlock Holmes and the Emerald of Alcazar’.

The theft of a famous jewel draws the cunning sleuths and suspicious characters into a battle of wits, with their deadly enemies. Who will overcome? Or is the answer just, ‘Elementary my dear Watson’.

The staff and pupils of Magherafelt Primary cordially invite all our friends, families and supporters to attend these performances of the annual show, especially as this will be the final production to be held at the Queen’s Avenue site. We encourage past pupils to take this opportunity to have a nostalgic final walk around the school and then go on to be entertained by our talented young actors, under directorship of Principal Mr Buckley.

Student Council Chairperson, Sarah, states, “I have loved being part of Sherlock Holmes and I love acting, so I am chuffed to be playing the part of Harriet Puppin.

“This is the last play to be performed on this stage which is sad, but also happy as in November there will be a brand new school. I can’t wait to come and see a play or musical in the new building. This has been an amazing experience and it has been one of the many highlights of my school years.”

Come along and support our pupils. Tickets are available now from the school office (Tel: 028 79632822).
