Sixtowns prepares for weekend celebration of community spirit

Preparations are underway for an exciting series of events in the Sixtowns community, in the first week of July.

Kicking off the weekend festival on Friday, July 10, is ‘Traditions Meet’ a celebration of Ulster Scots and traditional music in the Shepherd’s Rest from 8.30pm, with a suggested donation of £3. Musicians go free.

Places of Interest is the theme for Saturday, July 11 with a guided walk around the many local landmarks. The walk starts from the Sixtowns Community Centre at 4pm, with refreshments served on return at 7pm.

Sunday, July 11 will feature a family fun day, with bouncy castles, sports events, face-painting, vintage vehicles and historical displays.

The fun day will be held at the Shepherd’s rest from 2pm until 6pm. Admission is £2 per head, £10 for a family pass.
