Sketchy to perform at Cookies Comedy Club

STAR of BBC’s “Sketchy”, Diarmuid Corr will be bringing laughs to the Mid Ulster Mail Bar of the Year, the Oldtown Inn when he peforms this Friday.

A welder by trade, and self trained actor, Diarmuid performed his very first stand up comedy routine in Belfast on a small stage to about a crowd of ten people. Four years on and he is enjoying huge success on the comedy circuit.

He has supported numerous first class comedians around the UK and Ireland, including performers such as Sean Hughes, Jason Byrne and Kevin Bridges.

He has also stared in various comedy sketch shows for the BBC and Channel 4, most recently he co-wrote and performed a mixture of stand up comedy and sketches on his own TV series, “Sketchy With Diarmuid Corr” on BBC1 NI.

He has recently become a resident compere at the famous comedy venue, The Empire in Belfast, a mecca for local comedy and a place that has churned out such comedians as Paddy Kielty, Colin Murphy, and Jake O’Kane.

Also performing on the night is Kevin O’Neill, who plays numerous parts in “Sketchy” and local comedian Cormac O’ Donnell roadtesting material before his second gig in the Empire in Belfast.

The night will be MC’d by resident compere Paddy Mc Donnell. The show starts at 9pm and a small amount of tickets are still left at £5 each available from the Oldtown Inn.
