Special performance for ballet boy Ruaidhri

IN a unique one-off show, Northern Ireland’s top amateur dramatic companies alongside McMasters’ Stage School Bangor, Upstage Downstage and Laura Walker School of Ballet will combine forces to showcase the best of Northern Ireland’s musical theatre and dance talent.

Featuring the big musical numbers from the West End and Broadway shows, performances include Oklahoma! and Jesus Christ Superstar by Ulster Operatic Company, Guys & Dolls and Fiddler on The Roof by New Lyric Operatic, Sound of Music and Annie by St Agnes’ Choral Society, Sweet Charity and West Side Story by Bangor Operatic Society.

Proceeds from this performance on September 22 at the Theatre at the Mill in Newtownabbey will go to support one of Northern Ireland’s up and coming ballet dancers, Ruaidhri Maguire, who has just secured a place in the prestigious Central School of Ballet in London.

Ruaidhri, who has developed his talent and love of theatre by actively participating in NI Amateur Dramatic circles over the years, is just one of three boys from NI ever to achieve this most sought after opportunity.
