St Patrick’s pupils head for Dublin

THE students of St. Patrick’s College are currently excited to be preparing for the Eucharistic Congress.

A group of almost 20 pupils are to attend this landmark event in the RDS in Dublin - an event which hasn’t taken place in Ireland since the 1930s.

On the day pupils will sample the atmosphere of the RDS, taking in the music, talks, games and workshops with other schools and pupils from across the country.

They will then be privileged to meet and talk to the once prolific gangster-turned-evangelists, John Pridmore, before being escorted for lunch with the 2011 Dublin Rose of Tralee, Siobheal Nic Eochaidh.

The St. Patrick’s students, as part of the Eucharistic Congress will then lead a youth Holy Hour for hundreds of young people in the heart of Dublin, leading the prayer and music with a mixture of time-tested and contemporary musical numbers, as they explore the beauty and fulfillment of Adoration.

Before the day ends, the St. Patrick’s students will attend a teen programme led by Dominican Priest and Preacher, Fr. John Harris OP.

There is a real buzz and excitement as the pupils rehearse and fundraise for this once in a lifetime opportunity - watch this space.
