Suspicious object handed into police

Barrack Street in Lisburn is currently closed off after a suspicious object was handed in to police by a member of the public.

The object raised officers’ concerns in the station and in the interests of safety, the bomb squad has been dispatched to the scene.

And in a second incident the Hillhall Road has been sealed off after reports of a suspicious car.

Police said that a stolen car had been abandoned at the site and they were following standard procedure by having Army bomb experts attend the scene.
