Teenager assaulted after using cash

Although the incident happened on the evening of Friday, December 10, details have only emerged now.

Police say that at around 6pm the youth was walking with his friend in a grassy area near Beechwood Grove when he was approached by two unknown males.

One of them punched the victim to the ground and demanded money.

His accomplice held the victim's friend whilst the assault occurred.

The assailants then ran off on foot towards Beechwood Grove empty-handed.

The victim had just left an ATM machine outside a convenience store on the Knockmore Road and sustained bruising in the attack.

One of the attackers is described as being about 6' in height, medium build, early 20's wearing a two tone blue top.

The second is described as 5'2" in height, slim build, approximately 15 years old wearing a red hoodie.
