DON’T forget about the Big Switch On in Cookstown tonight (Thursday) when the town’s magnificent Christmas lights are switched on at 8pm. Come along and join in the fun which starts at 7pm.
We are delighted to welcome back well-known local presenter Malachi Cush, who will take charge of things on stage. Meanwhile a host of cartoon characters, fire jugglers, stiltwalkers, free face painting, and balloon modelling will keep the kids happy as they wait for the arrival of Santa - this year in a sleigh drawn by a real reindeer!
Santa will join the Chairman of Cookstown District Council, Councillor Sean Clarke on stage just after 8pm, the magic red button will be pressed and Christmas in Cookstown will then be officially underway.
Cookstown welcomes everyone to this fantastic family event. There will be free goodies for the kids and a number of shops and cafes will be open late, including Cuppatino’s who are offering 10% off your food bill when you use the voucher from your ‘Something Special this Christmas’ booklet.
So wrap up warm, bring your friends and family and be sure not to miss a thing!
