Tim’s satirical look on Irish history comes to Bardic Theatre

TIM McGarry from Give My Head Peace, Dry Your Eyes, The Blame Game and Hearts and Minds turns his satirical eye on History for his solo stand up show which has been playing to packed houses all over the north in recent years.

Tim bring’s his Irish History Lesson to Donaghmore’s Bardic Theatre this Thursday night December 29 at 8pm.

Join Tim as he takes a hilarious romp through 5000 years of Irish History. Invasion, War, Famine and Conflict - Our past has always been a rich source of comedy.

Tim will cover everything from the English invasion to Irisgate and everyone from Saint Patrick to Catriona Ruane - and he’s guaranteed to make you laugh.

He is former lawyer, (but please don’t hold that against him) an experienced actor, writer, stand-up comedian and broadcaster who has worked extensively on television, radio and stage.

Tim is probably most renowned for playing the part of Sinn Fein stalwart Da in 73 episodes of the hugely popular sitcom Give My Head Peace which ran for ten years and was Northern Ireland’s most popular TV show.

He has also performed a huge number of different roles (both male and female!) in the BBC NI television sketch show Dry Your Eyes. Tim writes and performs the weekly topical “taxi-driver” piece for BBCNI’s popular current affairs TV show Hearts and Minds.

Tim McGarry’s Irish History Lesson has received five star reviews from the Belfast Telegraph and audiences in Donaghmore are sure to agree. It’s taken a while to get round the province admits Tim but he is delighted to be covering every single theatre in Northern Ireland known to man!

This will be one of the final two performances of this show in all of Northern Ireland so grab your chance to see it while you can.
