Top civil servant athealth visits cityfor a look around

The Western Health and Social Care Trust has welcomed the recently appointed Permanent Secretary at the Department of Health on his first visit to the Trust.

Trust boss Elaine Way said: “We are delighted to welcome Richard Pengelly, the new Permanent Secretary to Altnagelvin Hospital and be able to showcase some of the positive work we have been doing to improve our patients’ experience.”

She continued: “This is the Permanent Secretary’s first visit to Altnagelvin and it is a wonderful opportunity to highlight the fantastic work of our staff. We are very proud of our staff and it was a real pleasure for them to meet the Permanent Secretary in person.”

As well as engaging with the Senior Management Team and Senior Clinical Leaders in the Trust he was given an update on the Radiotherapy Project and a tour of the construction site.
