Security alert ends: old decommissioned grenade removed by Army

An old decommissioned grenade has been dealt with by Army Technical Officers in Cookstown.

Police say the security alert at Lissan Road has now ended.

A police spokesperson said: "A suspicious object was discovered in the area this afternoon by police, ATO were tasked to examine the object and established it to be an old decommissioned grenade and removed it.

"Lissan Road has now reopened and residents have been able to return to their homes."
