Two injured in fatal collision still in hospital

TWO local young people who were badly injured in a road collision - which claimed the life of a 21-year-old woman - remain in hospital.

Scott Houston, aged 20 and from Mourneview, was admitted to Craigavon Area Hospital where he remains “stable” while Claire Gough, whose brother Colin is a member of Craigavon Protestant Boys Flute Band, is in a critical condition in Belfast’s Royal Victoria Hospital.

Both were involved in a car crash on the Armagh Road during the early hours of Saturday November 3. The collision claimed the life of Portadown woman, Katherine Kelley, who died of her injuries the following day.

Daniel Dougan was also injured in the crash but was later released from hospital.

All three friends were former pupils of Craigavon Senior High School. Principal David Mehaffey said that his thoughts were with the former pupils and their families at this difficult time while speaking at a prize-giving day held on the same day as Miss Kelley’s funeral.

The service, which was held for the Portadown woman last Friday in Portadown Elim Church, was attended by 500 people.
