Two teenage girls accused of assaulting police in Magherafelt

Two teenage girls have been charged with assault and resisting police arising out of an incident in Magherafelt town centre last month.

Shannon Johnston (18), of Tulach Way in the town, is accused of assaulting a constable and resisting police at Market Street on October 11.

The other defendant, who cannot be named because of her age, faces three counts of assault on police and resisting officers.

Both were bailed at Magherafelt Court until December 2.
