Faughan: Poll-topper thanks fiancée for putting up with him
Mr Middleton said: “A special person I need to dedicate my election to and my campaign to is my fiancée Julie Davis who has put up with a lot over this last while.
“It was an excuse for me to get away from the wedding plans,” he joked. “But can I just say a massive thank you.”

“It’s an absolute honour to stand here as a Democratice Unionist Party (DUP) councillor. To top the poll was extra special.
“The most important thing is that we returned our two candidates for the DUP in Faughan. We’ll be strong.
“We also kept our three seats in the Waterside, which is also important.”
Mr Middleton thanked his election agent Debbie Ramsey, his running mate Maurice Devenney and his party colleagues.
