Ulster Scots writer Burgess speaks to Probus Club

Wilson recalled how he had spent many a long day listening to the men, who after a hard days work, gathered at the Clarehill Diamond.

There they recalled the days proceedings and this had a profound impression on the young Wilson.

From this Wilson told members how he became involved in the the Ulster Scots movement.

He illustrated his love of this by reading from his poems and prose which he has written over the years.

Wilson read a multi faceted selection of his work many of them more than touched with a great sense of humour!

He concluded his most informative and highly motivated readings by taking questions from members.

These he answered with a generous touch of pure fun.

Cecil Leitch in proposing the vote of thanks congratulated Wilson on his highly entertaining and informative talk recalling his own memories of bygone days in a style only Cecil could muster - with humour and aplomb!

This was duly passed on by the President.
