Vegetable man going an extra mile for charity

COAGH man Gordon Bell is literally going that extra mile for charity, even though he has already raised thousands growing vegetables for a good cause.

With his son David, the pair have organised a three mile charity fun walk to raise cash for the Royal Victoria Hospital’s Cardiac Surgery Unit.

For some years now, Mr Bell has grown vegetables at his Drumad Lane home and sold them to raise money for the RVH.

Now he hopes to enlist around 100 people to do the walk from Drum Manor in Cookstown on July 30 this year.

And if anyone wants some potatoes, Gordon has plenty to sell fresh from his fields and you will be helping the Cardiac Surgery Unit. He is growing lots of other vegetables which should be ready for harvesting over the next months.

If you would like to get involved with the fun walk, please call Gordon on 07833337278 or David on 07717004261.
