The sister of a young girl who had hair removal cream smeared on her hair at the Christmas lights switch on in Cookstown has spoken of the traumatic moment she saw her sister clutching ‘lumps of her hair’ in her hands.
A tearful Courtney Reid, recalled how she was working in Subway in the town on Thursday night (27th November), as the town’s lights were being switched on, when her 13-year-old sister Kelsey, came into the shop in hysterics.
“She had two big lumps of her in her hand and she was balling her eyes out,” said Courtney.
“People were saying she’s going to have to wash her hair over the bath and scrub it out. When I came home the bath was covered in so much hair.
“Literally the front part of her head was completely bald, it’s just awful that someone could go out of their way to hurt my little sister, it’s just awful.”
