The policing partnership in Magherafelt held a meeting to tackle the issue of boy and girl racers, after complaints from the public.
The event was chaired by Chief Inspector Sam Donaldson who gave an overview of the complaints received from the public about young drivers.
Sgt Joanne McKinney , PSNI Roads Policing outlined their work and the engagement they had with young drivers in the district.
Michael McCrory, Magherafelt PCSP Manager, provided an overview of the recent NI Cruise/PCSP survey with young drivers and engaged those attending to give their view on policing and associated issues with young drivers.
Those attending engaged fully and agreed we should seek to increase communication and work together on future events and projects.
Chief Inspector Sam Donaldson, Magherafelt Area Commander praised the young people who truned up the event.“Firstly, I’d like to thank all the young drivers who turned up to the event - it’s vital that we listen to their concerns,” he said.
“The meeting was a great opportunity to talk about ways to work together in the future but most importantly to explore how we can keep people safe on our local roads.
“I look forward to seeing some progress around the ideas that were suggested at the meeting.”
