Video: Runners tackle mental health issues in Draperstown

DOZENS of runners took part in the Keith Reid 10K race in Draperstown on Saturday to raise funds and awareness of mental health and suicide.

The run was organised by the local STEPS mental health group, who have been working to remove the stigma around suicide in the Draperstown area.

Karen McGuigan from the STEPS group said she was delighted with the turnout of runners, ahead of the World Suicide Awareness Day on Tuesday, September 10.

The event is named in memory of popular Draperstown man Keith Reid, a keen runner, who died tragically in September 2007.
