Shocking video footage of a brutal altercation involving a gang of men in broad daylight in Dungannon has been obtained by the Tyrone Times.
In the video, two men can clearly be seen attacking another individual while he lies on the ground, with one of the men stamping on the individual’s head.
The recording was made at around 8pm on Saturday evening past, just outside the popular Shambles Restaurant in Irish Street.
At one point in the video, the group runs off when they are approached by a police officer.
Asked for information about the incident, a PSNI spokesperson said: “Police received a report of a group of people fighting in the Irish Street area of Dungannon on Saturday evening.
“Police patrolled the area and spoke with a number of persons.
“There were no arrests and no complaints made during the incident.”
Dungannon SDLP councillor, Denise Mullen, said she had been made aware of the video of the incident, which she described as “very concerning”.
“For this to happen in a public place while it is still light is very concerning”, continued councillor Mullen.
“This is a very dangerous piece of footage and I would like to know what the police are doing about it?
“I was made aware of another incident which I understand took place recently in Railway Park, and, again, this is very concerning.”
