Winter Craft Fair returns to the Burnavon in Cookstown

The ever popular Winter Craft Fair returns back to the Burnavon for its ninth year on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22rd November.

With over sixty quality craft and food producers, there is sure to be something for everyone, with many regular favourites alongside a host of newcomers. A

ltogether twenty two new artists are taking part this year – just take a look at our list! Jewellery, textiles, ceramics, woodcraft, decorations, artwork, glassware, cards and delicious foods - this has to be the perfect one-stop event to make a serious assault on your Christmas shopping list! After a few years’ absence, local artist George Gourley returns with his sepia toned watercolour originals, prints and cards. He will be joined by regulars Denis and Rosemary Ferguson and by Karen Logan with her unique range of vibrant and quirky original artwork. Grace Scott with her amazing pastel drawings and a new range of home accessories will be back for her second time, as will artist Louisa Kelly. Visitors can also look forward to illustrator artist Phenella Purdy’s, Boutique Graffique, debut appearance at the fair.

For those in search of beautiful ceramics and pottery there is no shortage of choice. This year we again have Lynda B Ceramics and Mount Ida Pottery, joined by newcomers Cula Ceramics and Stephen McGuigan. So it doesn’t matter if you are thinking functional, sculptural or decorative, there will be something to suit.

As usual, jewellery lovers will be spoilt for choice with beautiful pieces from Erincraft, Sugarisland Crafts and Cornucopia4u to name a few familiar makers, alongside a new sterling silver range of from Bluebell Handmade Jewellery and really appealing leather bracelets from Lovesmith.

Also among the brand new crafters putting in an appearance will be wood smiths, David Keys Sustainable Woodworking, Bert Dallas who makes beautiful wooden pens and WB Woodcraft who specialise in quirky birdhouses. Remember too that if you don’t see exactly what you want, many of these producers will take an order from you and send it to you when it is ready.

There will also be music from Cookstown Youth Choir and the Traditional Music in Schools group on Saturday and from Sperrin Choir on Sunday.
