A LURGAN woman has appeared in court today in connection with the murder of Cookstown prison officer, David Black.

Fiona McFadden, from Killough Gardens, is accused of trying to pervert the course of justice.

She is also accused of supplying a false alibi for a murder suspect on the day after Mr Black was killed.

Mr Black, a 52 year-old father of two, was shot dead on the M1 motorway as he went to work at Maghaberry Prison in November 2012.

Fiona McFadden was granted bail on the condition that she made no contact with two men who are already facing charges connected to the killing.
