A WOMAN who kicked a police officer on the shin during an incident in Castledawson, was given a Conditional Discharge for 12 months at Magherafelt Magistrates Court for assault.
Janet Hoyle (51), of Ashbourne, Castledawson, was also fined £140 and banned from driving for 12 months for driving while having consumed excess alcohol.
A PPS lawyer said defendant used various expletives when police tried to speak to her outside her home on the night of July 1.
He said police had gone to the address following a report of an incident and as they were leaving the defendant arrived in her car.
The lawyer said Hoyle provided a specimen which revealed an alcohol reading of 60mg in breath.
Defence solicitor Stephen Atherton said the defendant had no previous convictions.
He said she was of a previous impeccable, good character and was deeply embarrassed by her appearance in court.
