The woman who died suddenly yesterday, Wednesday, at Craigavon Hospital has been named locally as well known Dungannon businesswoman Anita Rooney.
A Southern Health and Social Care Trust spokesperson said they were treating Mrs Rooney’s death as a “tragic incident”.
Police are working with the Trust to establish the details of the popular 50 year-old’s death.
Anita Rooney was highly respected in the Dungannon area as a businesswoman who specialised in the area of recruitment.
Paying tribute to Mrs Rooney, Dungannon SDLP councillor, Denise Mullen, expressed her deepest sympathies to the Rooney and extended families.
“Anita was a highly respected businesswoman in Dungannon, a loving mother and a true friend to so many”, Cllr Mullen said.
“I recall when my Aunt Annie died, Anita, who was one of her neighbours, was always there helping to sort things out for us, and for that I was always truly grateful to her.
“Anita was a lovely person with a great sense of humour and wit. She will be sorely missed.
“Her husband is a true gentleman and I offer my deepest condolences to him and their children at this awful time.”
