Saturday saw six Harriers at Parkanaur Forest, Co Tyrone for the final race of the Sperrin Harriers Winter League series.

The 10-mile trail event took the runners on a challenging looped course around the forest, past the grand Parkanaur House, its gardens and along the Torrent River.

The club competitors, Christine Murray, Graeme O’Hara, Natasha Henderson, Gillian Orr, and sisters Jane and Sarah Kinnear, all gave strong performances (results unavailable at time of going to press).

Then on Sunday, five Harriers, along with over 530 others, competed in and completed the popular DUNE Half Marathon.

The cross-border race starts in Newry city centre and finishes in Dundalk. This year saw a slightly revised route, which included some serious inclines but Harriers had prepared well and ran strongly.

Results: Louise Smart (1:41:34); Aaron Anderson (1:49:29); Kim Gleave (2:44:51); Marion Morrow (2:33:54); and Eileen Stewart (2:44:55 1st FV60).
