Coleraine prove to be too strong for Ballycastle

Coleraine Ladies First XI continued their impressive start to the season with a 4-0 win at Ballycastle on Saturday.

In a unsettled first five minutes Coleraine midfield of Alex Balmer, Sue Nutt and Emily Hutchinson had lots of the ball, however failed to really create any chances.

Not long after Sarah Harkness made a strong break down the right feeding the ball into Carol Anne Agnew to finish and put Coleraine 1-0 up.

The next 15 minutes was a tough battle with the Coleraine defence, in particular player of the match Susan Chapman, making very strong tackles.

After a unsettled first half Coleraine came out in the second half with an intensity that Ballycastle couldn’t match.

Strong runs through Kelly Watt and Niamh Lockhart produced a short corner for Alice McGill to step up and make it 2-0.

Coleraine began to dominate, through great movement of the ball from Sharon Kennedy and Ciara Richmond, who were able to set up attacks on both wings.

Moments later Zoe Campbell made a great run down the left finding Carol Anne Agnew for her second goal of the day.

In the dying moments Grace Bradley broke down the right wing after receiving a pass from Kelly Watt to provide an inch perfect pass for Sarah Harkness to smash the ball into the left hand corner.

It wrapped up an excellent win and performance for the Coleraine ladies.
