Under-16 Girls Win the Double: Rockettes add League Title in Unbeaten Season Run. The Fr Rocks U16 Girls added the League Title to their recent Grade 3 Championship victory, on Saturday October 8. At a very wet Greencastle, the young Rockettes triumphed over Aghyaran winning 5:10 to 3:03. The scoreline doesn’t reveal the full story of an exciting game, in which the opposition battled back fromseven7 points down at half-time to within just two after ten minutes of the second half. The Rockettes then responded in emphatic fashion, upping their game again and pulling away with two goals and a succession of points. Aghyaran have been the toughest opponents all year but this time the girls weren’t letting them come back again in the closing stages. A final late goal capped the win, in what was one of the best all-round team performances of the year.

The League title means the Under 16s do the double during a year in which they went unbeaten. Fr Rocks are the only U16 team to do a Grade Double this year. Congratulations to the team and everyone involved for a fine record and for carrying the club standard so well.
