Robert notches up first century to seal victory

Donaghcloney Thirds travelled to Derriaghy on Monday for their third league game of the season. Without a win to-date Donaghcloney new they had to take advantage of a good wicket and decided to bat.

Richard Clydesdale and Lewis McNamara batted flawlessly and took the total to 119 before Clydesdale was caught, bringing young Robert Lyttle to the crease. This seemed to give the scoring rate another boost and after reaching his own half century with a six, Lewis achieved the significant milestone of his first Century as Donaghcloney finished on 236. This was always going to be a massive challenge for Derriaghy and by taking regular wickets Donaghcloney always stayed in control and ended up securing a great win by 94 runs, Robert Lyttle with four wickets was the pick of the bowlers.

Local cricket fixtures this weekend see Lurgan away to bottom of the table CIYMS, Waringstown are at home to CSNI while in Section One Donaghcloney go to Derriaghy in search of vital league points.
