Drifters take full revenge to wrap up Pictorium Cup

Drifters exacted the strongest retribition possible on The Diamond to win the Pictorium Cup in the Ballymena, Harryville and District Darts League, sponsored by Mid Antrim Blinds.

The multiple league champions avenged their surprise Champion of Champions defeat by the same opponents earlier in the season by whitewashing Diamond 9-0 in Friday night’s final.

In the Pictorium Duffers Cup, the subsidiary event to the main competition, Derek Campbell was the last leg hero for BT/PO Club as they squeezed past Diamond Bar 5-4 to win the silverware.

In the Loyalist Cup, there was double celebration in the Fountain Place clubrooms as Fountain Arrows won the Loyalist Cup final, while their clubmates Fountain Bar won the subsidiary event in the same competition.

In a week of high quality throwing, Darnell McCrory and Glenn Gilmour each hit 13 dart legs, followed by: 14 - Davy McFall, Geoffrey Matthews, Ryan Esler, 16 - John Elder, Darnell McCrory, Geoff Wylie, 17 - Geoffrey Matthews, Paul McDonald, 18 - Ashley Rainey, Ricky Dunlop x2, Ryan Gault, John Robinson, 19 - Davy McFall, George Foster, 20 - Alan Service, Roy McKay, 21 - Sandra Gilmore.

Sandra Gilmore (Buffs Club) had the best finish with a 116 checkout, followed by Brian Hannaway (Fountain Bar) with a 107.

Ashley Rainey, Davy Martin (The Diamond), Davy McFall x2, Ricky Dunlop (Drifters), Sandra Gilmore, Paul McDonald (Buffs Club) and Neil Marshall (Fountain Arrows) all hit 180s.
