For most clubs, the only silver lining on the cloud which enveloped the county last weekend with the sadly-premature exit of the Tyrone team from the All-Ireland Championship was the consolation of having their players available for the rest of the club season.
Alas, as always, there are some exceptions to that rule - with the news that a number of the county panel seemingly already bound for the USA.
The biggest casualties are Edendork, who had already lost Harry Og Conlan and Mark McReynolds to American clubs from the start of last month until September, because Niall Morgan has now agreed a move stateside for the remainder of the summer. With the county goalkeeper, who plays midfield for the St.Malachys, having linked up with Ulster GAA club in San Francisco, their preparations for the intermediate championship quarter-final next month will be in disarray.
Errigal Ciaran’s Ciaran McGinley has reportedly signed for Chicago St Brendans, while Aghyaran’s Ronan McNamee and Coalisland’s Paddy McNeice both joined New York club Donegal GAA until September as well.
