Five-a-side title for Hawk-eyed Byrnes stars

Byrnes Hawkes claimed a thrilling victory in the Alexanders Lisburn and District Dart League five-a-side finals in Alexanders’ clubrooms last week.

They saw off Byrnes Eagles and Byrnes Badgers on the way to powering past Marketview 3-1 in a high quality final.

The quarters started with the two Marketview teams. It was the As who sealed a spot in the semis with wins from P McGlynn, F McMahon (100), M McKee (100, 125, 140).

Byrnes Hawks met Byrnes Eagles and after some fantastic games, progressed to semis with wins from K Campbell (2x140), N Peden (100, 180), P White (2x100).

Manor Inn A beat Pretty Marys 3-0 with wins from J Somerville, E Davis and A Lyness.

Byrnes Badgers had a walk over but they were beaten 3-0 in the semis by the Hawkes. Winners were N Peden (140), P White (100, 140), K Campbell (100, 121, 140).

Marketview A beat Manor Inn A 3-0 with wins from F McMahon (100, 140, 107 o/s), S Nugent (114, 125), P McGlynn (120).

The final was a brilliant match with high scores and high finishes.

Hawks: K Campbell (2x100, 140), N Peden (115, 125, 140, 125 o/s), N Dunwoody (100, 118).

Marketview’s winner was M McKee (121, 115 o/s).
