ALL of the local Irish league clubs return to league action this weekend after participating in various cup fixtures last Saturday.

Tobermore United face a lengthy trip to face Warrenpoint Town in the Championship One section. Both sides were promoted from the second tier last season and the Fortwilliam Park side will be looking to kick start their season again following their disappointing defeat to the Welders in their last league fixture.

In Championship Two, Coagh United return to Hagan Park following a month of playing away fixtures in both league and cup. Visitors to Hagan Park this Saturday are Belfast outfit Sport and Leisure Swifts. Kick off is 2.30pm

Moyola Park also have a home fixture when they host a rejuvenated Chimney Corner at Mill Meadow. Boss Mervyn Pattison will be hoping his side can continue their recent good form. The Castledawson side had a superb victory over Ballyclare in their last league fixture. Kick off is 3pm.

Killymoon Rangers face Ballyclare at the Mid Ulster Sports Arena. The home side will be looking to claim their first victory of the season. Kick off is 3pm.

Several local sides will then face midweek cup action as the second round of the Irn-Bru League Cup takes place next Tuesday evening.

The stand out tie of the round, is a midweek trip for Killymoon to East Belfast to face an inconsistent Glentoran side. Action gets underway at the Oval at 7.45pm.

Coagh United also face Premier League opponents as they travel to face bottom of the table Glenavon. Stephen Uprichard and Noel Mitchell will be hoping to heap more misery on beleaguered boss Marty Quinn, with a shock victory at Mourneview Park. Kick off is 7.45pm.

Finally, Tobermore manager Johnny Law will be hoping his side get through their fixture with Lisburn Distillery without picking up any unnecessary injuries. Manager Law had previously stated that it was ‘ a fixture I could have been doing without.’

Kick off at Ballyskeagh is also 7.45pm.
