CRY screening test coming to Foyle

CARDIAC Screening Charity CRY will be holding its next screening clinic at Foyle College on Saturday and Sunday, July 27th & 28th.

Sports personalities such as Manchester United defender Jonny Evans, golfer Graeme McDowell, Andrew Trimble and Brian Dooher are among the local stars who have lent their support to CRY’s screening Campaign, urging young people to sign up for the clinic and Go Get Screened.

The screening will take place at Foyle College and local CRY representative John Lundy explained.

“Screening is open to young people aged between 14 and 35 years of age. A CRY cardiologist is in attendance to read the ECG and Echocardiogram, if an Echo is required. If any further medical referral is needed, the Cardiologist is on hand to offer expert advice.

He added: “Currently there is no cost to get screened, this is due to the support of people across Northern Ireland in our fundraising efforts. CRY encourages everyone to get screened particularly those involved in sport.

“We would request that coaches and parents encourage young people that have not yet been screened to Go Get Screened.”
