Desertmartin remember former player Andrew Moore

Desertmartin Swifts 1

Rathcoole 0

Desertmartin Swifts progressed into round 3 of the Linda Welshman Cup with a hard fought victory over Rathcoole at Dromore Park last Saturday.

The match was highly competitive and played in a good sporting manner well controlled by referee Davy Trainor. This is contrary to what we are getting from some of our football played in the higher regions of our professional game.

Philip Caulfield scored the only goal just after the break and Paul Leacock made a few good saves to keep the scoreline intact at the final whistle and send the Swifts through.

The Swifts are at home again this Saturday against Ballymoney United Reserves kick off 2pm.

The firsts, who did not have a game last Saturday, are away to F C Ballynure at the Hockey Club Doagh kick off 2pm.
