FC Ballynure Reserves 2 Moyola Park Olympic 10

Moyola Park Olympic put a couple of disappointing Ballymena Junior League Division Two results firmly behind them when hitting 10 against bottom of the table FC Ballynure.

This result is all the more significant as it was an away fixture against the Doagh based side.Right from the outset, the Castledawson visitors went on the attack and soon, defender Conall Kilpatrick opened the

Shortly after, William Dunlop maintained his recent scoring expolits when he made it 2-0, and a bad mistake by the home keeper allowed a Michael McClean effort to cross the line for 3-0.

Other chances went close from Kevin Loughrey and Dunlop as the half time whistle sounded with Moyola well in control. On the restart, the hosts contributed greatly to their own downfall.

The referee rightly sent two Ballynure players off for dissent, and the away team went on to take full advantage.

Dunlop netted twice to complete his hat trick while the lively Kevin Loughrey also weighed in with a couple of well taken goals.

And, two classy finishes from Carlo Diamond eventually brought up double figures.

However, the home team did pull two goals back to leave Moyola Park Olympic as 10-2 away victors.

This result surpasses their previous best of the season, scoring 9 against Ballynure OBs B, but while pleasing to record a big win, there will be sterner tests against other sides who will be much more disciplined and intent on contesting a game of football.

The result keeps Olympic in the top three and still in with a chance of promotion.
