Moyola kicked off with a look of a team who were out to right the wrongs of their last performance against Northend.

Both teams started strong and had a couple of early efforts. As Northend pushed forward they looked to break down Moyola’s defence, and as a Moyola player was on the ground having been brought down, the team took their eye off the ball and Northend capitalised, with a shot that was well taken into the roof of the net.

Although the team were slightly aggrieved that they did not get a free kick, Moyola started to play some really nice flowing football. Adam Brown and Ronan McKee were a midfield pair with a great connection and combined well going forward.

Dylan Wilson was Moyola’s main threat down the right and was taken out by despicable tackles time after time.

As the second half started, so increased Moyola’s tempo, and as Reuben Orr in central defence cleared his lines, Moyola kept coming. With their endeavours going forward, Dylan Wilson was rewarded with a goal to make it 1-1.

The goal came from some fine running forward and a shot from Reuben Bell, which the keeper parried into the path of Dylan to slot home from close range. As Moyola came forward still, so did Northend and the last couple of minutes were backs to the wall defending and chess like attacking as both teams didn’t want to loose possession.

A gritty performance with heart was the story of the day and this was clearly evident from Adam Brown and his man of the match display. 1-1 the final score, and a well deserved point for the league leaders.
