FOOTBALL: Paddy McCourt to attend Maiden City Soccer Golf Day
The 10th staging of the popular event, which began in 2007, will take place at Foyle Golf Centre on Friday, May 20th, and will, this year be held in memory of former Everton player, Andy King, who passed away suddenly earlier this year.
King was a keen supporter of the event and all the proceeds of a Night at the Races scheduled for Thursday, May 19th at Da Vinci’s Hotel will go to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Hide Ad“Andy was a keen supporter of the event and he sadly suddenly passed away this year,” said a Maiden City Academy spokesperson.
“Our football education stems from our grassroots community programme where we have over 1,000 children participating on a weekly basis, in local primary schools and leisure centres.
“It then grows and develops into our elite Academy, with 155 players competing in the N.I. Boys National Football League and the North West Coleraine and District league.
“The money raised from our celebrity golf day is vital in helping us sustain these programmes.”

Hide AdAt the event teams can enter a fourball team or a threeball team and play with a celebrity player.
Other celebrities attending include Mrs Brown’s Boys star, Brendan O’Carroll, and John Linehan (May McFetridge).
