Glenavon bounce back

Despite going behind to an early penalty Glenavon bounced back to make it three league wins in a row as they overcame Ards 4-1 at Mourneview Park.

There was drama early in the game as Glenavon’s David Rainey had a goal ruled out and then within seconds Ards won a penalty which was dispatched by Davidson.

It was all square when Guy Bates blasted home from the spot after the home team were fortunate to also win a penalty.

Rainey drilled home a brillaint left foot shot to make it 2-1 at the break and although it took the Lurgan Blues some time to get going in the second half they ran out comfortable winners in the end thanks to goals from Andy McGrory and an og from Andy Hunter.
