Moyola Park Ladies hosted top of the league side Crumlin Ladies at home in Concentrix Division 2 on Wednesday July 17.

Moyola Park Ladies also play the same team in the semi final of Concentrix Division Two League Cup in two weeks time so there was all to play for.

Crumlin Ladies went on the attack first and within five minutes with a fine safe by Rachael Balfour who injured herself and had to be taken off. Natasha Ferguson stepped up to goals and made some superb saves from early on in the game.

Kenning, now dominating the midfield for Moyola, put some super passes out to Courtney Brown and Jessica McGurk whose good runs were putting Crumlin defence under a lot of pressure.

A good strike by Charlene Kenning was well saved by the Crumlin keeper while a great effort by Claire McCracken went wide of the post. Moyola were very strong all over the park dominating this first half.

The second period started with the Moyola Park defence very strong, giving nothing away with Emma Leslie and Danielle Yorke playing a good game.

Both teams played it tight but the game went along at a high tempo. Jessica McGurk hit the cross bar from 20 yards out, but it was the result of a free kick minutes later for Crumlin which took them into the lead and gave them the victory at the final whistle.

Moyola Ladies next game is Ballyvange away on Thursday night 25th July 2013.
