First team

The Sky Blues are at home this Saturday against Roe Valley in the NI Intermediate League, kick off 2pm at Spires Park.

Last Saturday the Sky Blues lost their unbeaten run in the league when they went dow 2-0 away to Ardstraw.


The Sky Blues Reserves are home this Saturday against Ballynure in the second round of the Linda Welshman Cup, kick off 1.30pm.

Last Saturday the Reserves lost 4-1 at home against North West Premier League leaders, BBOB in the first round of the North West Junior Cup.

Youth teams

The U17s won 5-1 away against Glebe Rangers U17s in the league last Saturday. This Saturday they are home against Institute.

The U15s won 7-1 against Banbridge U15s in the league last Saturday.

The U13s lost 7-0 away against league leaders Lisburn Youth U13s last Saturday. This Saturday they are home against Canning.

The U12s lost 1-0 against league leaders Dungiven U13s last Saturday.

The U11s lost 2-1 away against Ardoyne U11s in the second round of the NI Boys FA Cup last Saturday. This Saturday the U11s are away against Coleraine.

Youth draw

The December and January Youth Players Draw sponsored by Sportique has taken place.

All players selected in the U17, U15, U13, U12, and U11 squads on the last Saturday of the month go into the hat to get the chance to win a Sky Blues Kit bag, Sky Blues Woolly Hat or a football.

The draw for December and January was made and the following players won - December winners 1, Sky Blues kitbag - Mark McGrogan U12; 2, Sky Blues woolly hat - Dillon Fitzpatrick U15; 3, Football - Conor Doherty U13.

January winners 1, Sky Blues kitbag - Odhran Grimes U15; 2, Sky Blues woolly hat - Ryan Convery U12; 3, Football - Sean Monaghan U13.

Mini soccer centre

The Sky Blues IFA Approved Mini Soccer Centre, sponsored by Ronan Valley, returns on Saturday, March 5.

The mini soccer centre, which takes place at Spires Park, is suitable for players in Primary School and takes place every Saturday between 10-11am.

The centre is now in its fifth season and attracts over 100 players each week. Information on registering will be circulated in the next few weeks.

The mini soccer centre is now at the core of Magherafelt Sky Blues youth football set up. As a result of the club’s commitment to developing young local players they have managed to establish a number of teams at different age levels inluding U11, U12, U13, U15 and U17.

The new Sky Blues 2011 calendar is now on sale at Sportique Shop, Magherafelt. The club will donate all profits from the calendar to ‘Make A Wish Foundation’ charity.
