Tobermore game off for third week in a row

THE weather once again was the only winner last Saturday with heavy frost all week making Fortwilliam Park rock hard and unplayable leaving Tobermore without a game for the third week running and facing a massive fixture backlog.

This Saturday Tobermore travel to Belfast where, weather permitting, they take on PSNI in a league game at Newforge Lane with a 2.00 kick off.

Please note that all Saturday league games revert to 3.00 kick off from Saturday February 5.

Mini soccer centre

Tobermore United’s popular Mini Soccer Centre continues this Saturday morning in Maghera Recreation Centre, from

10.00 am until 11.00, and players should come along kitted out ready to play with shin guards and trainers essential (not football boots).

The fun sessions are supervised by IFA accredited coaches and are open to all boys and girls of primary school age.

FC Larne 1 v 9 Tobermore United Reserves

Tobermore bounced back from last weeks defeat in style with an impressive display of attacking football in Larne.

Straight from the kick off Tobermore put pressure on the Larne defence and within 9 minutes had taken a two goal lead through goals from Kris McGill and William Hassan. Larne tried to get back into the game and scored with their only effort of the game to half the deficit to 2-1.

This goal spurred Tobermore on and by half time had increased there lead to 6-1 with goals by Darren Donnelly, Frank Niblock and a further two from the impressive Kris McGill, completing his hat-rick.

Tobermore’s dominance continued in the second half with three more goals, with Darren Donnelly and William Hassan both scoring their 2nd goals of the day and a late strike from Jonathan Paul completing the result.
