Well done to both Ballinascreen teams who represented their Clubs with distinction over the weekend in the Ulster Feile. The boys were very unlucky in their game against Creggan not to get a victory which would have taken them through while the girls acquitted themselves well in the top Division putting up great performances against the best Tyrone and Antrim had to offer.
A big word of thanks to everyone who helped with the Ladies Games up at the Park. It all went very smoothly and both visiting Clubs were very complimentary o the welcome they received.

The U10s played some excellent games, showing some great skill and scoring some brilliant goals and points, but were knocked out of the final stages on scores. The U8s were the real stars of the day winning a lot of their games, beating teams from the Loup, Swatragh and Slaughtneill to win the overall tournament and a lovely plaque for the club as well as gold medals for each player. Thanks to the parents who all came to support their children and to Swatragh for the invite, as well as providing refreshments and making us feel very welcome.

CO Derry hosted the Ulster Feile Peil na nOg on Saturday. The boys travelled to Drumsurn and recorded big wins against the hosts and Ballymacnab (Armagh) but couldn’t replicate those performances later in the day when losing narrowly to Dungiven.
Meanwhile the Girls’ team, which was already weakened by injury, hosted Buncrana (Donegal) and Mullabrack (Armagh). St Malachy’s played some great football in hot conditions to easily top a Group in which the standard of sportsmanship is worth noting. The only disappointment was an injury to Aoife early in the first game.
The Semi-final saw Claudy run up a big halftime lead but the girls eventually found their form and recorded another good win. This set up a Final against favourites Clonoe (Tyrone).
The girls gave as good as they got and reached the interval on level terms but eventually the exertions of the day took their toll and the strong visiting team built up a winning lead.
These girls played their first match together only last month so they and their families can be very proud of their progress this weekend. Girls you were all magnificent. Well done.
Team: Francess Connery, Aoife Brown, Grainne Kearns, Emily McCann, Anne McCoy, Aoibheann McElwee, Erin McKenna, Bronagh Robinson, Anna Coogan, Rebecca Doyle, Roshenda McPeake, Catie Duffy and Megan Kearns.
Numbers drawn on May 28st were 3, 6, 10 and 24. There was no Jackpot winner so £25 goes to Collie Diamond and John B McKenna. The new Jackpot is £1,200.
The Senior footballers returned to the top of the League with a 3rd straight win when previously unbeaten Slaughmanus visited the Broagh on Wednesday 23rd May. Subs: Gary Chesney and Christopher Gallagher. Star Man – Martin Heaney.
The Reserves continued to play some free-flowing football in their win against Slaughtmanus on Thursday evening. The Seniors beat Doire Transna by 2 points on Sunday 27th.
The U14 Girls continued their unbeaten League run with another football win at home to Coleraine. Team: Francess Connery, Aoife Brown, Shauna McAtamney, Roshenda McPeake, Anne McCoy, Aoibheann McElwee, Erin McKenna, Rebecca Doyle, Anna Campbell, Anna Coogan, Catie Duffy, Emily McCann, Megan Kearns and Grainne Kearns.

Castledawson Senior camogs came up against a determined Swatragh on Friday night. Castledawson were without the services of experience player Annie Bovil but they were able to welcome back Leona Brown and Johanne Mullan from injury.
Swatragh got off to a dream start with a goal and a number of points before Castledawson got on the score board with a fine individual point from half back Sinead Heaney.
Eilish Keenan’s honesty and work ethic was well rewarded when she scored a goal to give Castledawson the boost that they needed.
At the other end the Swatragh forwards were doing damage and the half finished Swatragh 2-6 Castedawson 1-1.
It was a gritty Castledawson side who took to the field in the second half bolstered by Johanne Mullan and Maoliosa O’Callaghan. Maoliosa scored a well taken goal and there were points from Eilish Keenan and a Katie McAnenly free.
The Castledawson defence did their best to keep the Swatragh forwards at bay and scored 1-2. Caoimhe McCoy and Roisin Hawe got through a mountain of work and didn’t deserve to be on the losing side.
Final score Swatragh 3-8 Castledawson 2-3. Team: Claire O’Kane, Lisa Robinson, Maura McAuley, Leona Brown, Geraldine Spillane, Roisin Hawe, Sinead Heaney (0-1), Laura O’Kane, Caoimhe McCoy, Eimear McCartney, Ashley Johnston, Una McAuley, Eilish Keenan (1-1), Katie McAnenly (0-1), Paula Hanvey.
