Slaughtneil 1-9 Clontibret 1-7 -
Slaughtneil advanced to the an Ulster Club final clash with Omagh following a comprehensive victory over Monaghan champions Clontibret at Healy Park on Sunday.
In what was a low scoring contest the Emmet’s dominated proceedings and went in with a 0-5 to 0-3 at the break.
The decisive score in the game came not long after the interval when good work from Slaughtneil’s influential midfielder Patsy Bradley found Francis McEldowney.
McEldowney picked out centre half forward Christopher McGuigan and he finished low to the back of the Clontibret goal.
McGuigan’s effort and the accuracy of Paul Bradley, who contributed 0-6, to the Derry side’s total saw them into the decider.
Clonibret were forced to rely on Conor McManus for scores but despite his accuracy from frees, he was well shackled by the Slaughtneil defence.
