Moneymore GFC

OUR senior team completed the double over Lissan at McCracken Park on Sunday past. Despite squandering several goal chances, one a glaring miss by Barra O’Neill when Johnny Taylor picked him out with his first straight pass of the season. It was evidently easier to dispatch the ball to the net than miss, but Pat Spillane’s Granny came to mind, when the Carmean native drew a blank. We ran out winners on a final scoreline of Moneymore 0-11 Lissan 1-5. We have two games left an away game to Foreglen and a home game with Drumsurn.

The club would like to wish ex Henry Joys player Martin Conway Good Luck in the London Senior Championship Final when he lines out for Fulham Irish. Well Done Marty!

After a very successful Underage and Go Games season we would like to thank all the players, parents and coaches for their efforts in 2011. We have organised a day out for anyone who helped this year. Anyone interested in paintballing on Saturday 15th October contact Roddy or Gary cost £30. Straight home afterwards!

The U13s girls had very little luck in the semi final against Limavady going down by a couple of points, they showed a lot of character in the 2nd half and battled really hard with limited resources being reduced to 12 players for about 10 mins of the game final score Limavady 2:10 Moneymore 2:8.

We have no doubt there is a lot more to come from the girls in the next couple of years, we would just like to thank all the girls 13s & 15s and the management for all their efforts this year and we hope to get more out next year
