Rock had Galbally as visitors to Pairc Naomh Padraig on Saturday last in the ACL Division 2. A goal straight from a Conor McCreesh 45 with virtually the last kick of the game saw Rock win both points after what was a tough encounter from two very committed teams. Galbally were the better team in the first half but points from Conor and James McCreesh, Aidan Girvan, Aidan McGarrity and Diarmaid Carroll kept Rock in touch at half time with Galbally going in ahead 0-8 to 0-5.

The second half saw Rock step up a gear with points from Conor McCreesh keeping Rock in touch. A Galbally goal which put them five clear 1-12 to 0-10 seemed to have the game won for them, but to Rocks credit they didn’t give up and an Eamonn Ward goal after some good work from Diarmaid Carroll give Rock some hope.

Then in the last seconds of the game Conor McCreesh goaled with his 45 going all the way to the Galbally net as Rock just about deserved the win on a final score of Rock 2-10 Galbally 1-12. Rock scorers: Conor McCreesh(1-6), Eamonn Ward(1-0), Aidan Girvan(0-1), Aidan McGarrity(0-1), James McCreesh(0-1), Diarmaid Carroll (0-1).
